Structural stigma has a sustained and debilitating impact on individuals and their health outcomes. Given that structural stigma typically impacts those who hold limited power in the social system, this session aims to understand the manifestations of structural stigma within the health care system. Experts in HIV, disability, mental health and COVID-19 will provide their perspectives on how stigma manifests in their unique areas of practice, and will discuss the practical solutions that can be applied to mitigate the impact of stigma within the HIV response.
